North Midlands Breast Screening Service is part of the National Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and invites over 34,000 local women for screening each year. We provide a free breast screening service for well women aged between 50 and 70, resident in North Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent.

We aim to provide and promote an efficient and effective, high quality breast screening service, to all eligible women within a caring environment. Please note – All of our screening staff are female.

Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms. To do this, an x-ray is taken of each breast (mammogram). Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment.

Don’t forget to be breast aware, if you do notice an abnormal change, contact your local GP straight away.
