From September – Changes to How You’ll Get Your Smear Test Results
From September, the NHS will start sending negative cervical screening (smear) results straight to you via the NHS App
.
Negative result?
You’ll get an NHS App message + notification.
If it’s not read within 72 hours, you’ll still get a letter.
Abnormal result?
You’ll continue to receive a letter by post (for now).
This is part of a national NHS programme – your GP surgery can’t change how results are sent.
