Drug Safety Alert for Pfizer and GSK RSV Vaccines
We have been recently informed of a drug safety alert in relation to both the Pfizer RSV and GSK RSV vaccines. Our records indicate that you may have received this vaccine from the practice.
The alert involves a recent study who has shown there to be a small increase in the risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome after having the vaccine in adults aged 60 and older. I would like to alert you to any signs and symptoms of this syndrome and, if they occur, to seek immediate medical attention as it requires urgent treatment in hospital.
